December 20, 2005 – X3 is set to debut in theatres in May 2006, and new-director Ratner seems to have an infinitely better grasp on the X-Men than former-director Singer could dream of. A bunch of Storm pictures from X3 have been put in a new gallery, accessible now! 14 new members have been added to S.T.O.R.M., bringing the grand total of RoMy haters to 49… for now!

Quickly, I want to note the addition of a tagboard/shoutbox on the main page, there for public use. It’s a much more efficient way to help me out with news, Storm updates, comments, info about broken links, etc. Another alert is that the 2 Quizzes, guestbook, and polls have been taken off of the site. Alxnet changed up their service but it was impossible for me to simply upgrade my account because of an e-mail bug they had. So for now the shoutbox will be a great way to contact me if you don’t have my current e-mail address (virtue@freehomepage.com is no longer operational). Updates to expect: New polls, new quizzes, the return of the X2 gallery, Storm comic book news (by the way, she has a new miniseries on the way), new layout for the SIMS portion of the site, and a new layout for Ororo’s Romantic Interests.

Storm #1 CoverBlack Panther #18 will introduce “The Wedding” although other comics, recounting Storm’s past with the Black Panther, will be played up from now through March and the actual wedding will take place in July 2006. The implications for this wedding are immense both inside and outside the comic book world. While Wakanda tries to survive through a bloody civil war, many X-Men fans are having a civil war amongst themselves about this matrimony of the T’Challa and Ororo.

Eric Jerome Dickey, novelist of African American fiction, will be taking over the helm of developing the romantic history between T’Challa and Ororo. He notes that, “We lay a foundation for why they love each other. You want to write a story where at the end the reader goes, ‘Yeah, they’re supposed to be together.’”

Coretta Scott King

Coretta Scott King, widow of Dr. Martin Luther King, passed away at 78 years old of ovarian cancer. As a real-life heroine and a peaceful warrior for freedom she continued her husband’s legacy even in mourning after his assasination. She is an example of strength and integrity. May the memory of her work be forever imprinted in the history of the United States and the world.

In X3: The Last Stand, The X-Men, led by Professor Xavier, have to contend with evolution itself in the form of their resurrected ex-teammate. Reborn as the Dark Phoenix, Jean Grey is not only a danger to herself, she’s a threat to her mutant comrades and the human race. And when a potential cure is discovered — one that could stop genetic mutations — the lines for a conclusive battle are drawn between the X-Men, Magneto’s Brotherhood, and humankind.

In this picture Storm is featured in the new blue outfit, which may or not mean that the original leather outfit will eventually become obsolete. Nevertheless, it seems that for a lot of action scenes Storm will be donning the same outfit she wore into the first two movies, with cape in tact. A member at the Storm the Woman of the X Yahoo! group had an online conversation with Simon Kinberg, one of the writers of X3, and he had this to say:

LIGHTNING STRIKEZ: “Considering the popularity of the ROLO shipper/fandom, can you tell us anything about this expanded relationship between Wolverine and Storm? Would you classify it as a “partners-in-crime” type relationship ala “Bonnie & Clyde”, a “Mom & Pop” leadership, or something more? There are rumors of “sexual tension” between the two characters.”

KINBERG: “The rumors of “sexual tension” are greatly exaggerated. Their interaction is definitely expanded in this film, as opposed to the first two movies. But it’s not the central emotional relationship. I would classify it as two leaders facing a war (and facing an old friend).”

LIGHTNING STRIKEZ: “It’s pretty apparent that you and Zak are well-versed in X-Men comic lore (and you mentioned that Kitty was one of your favorites). Has the mother/daughter relationship between Storm and Kitty been explored at all in this film?”

SIMON KINBERG: “This gets close to spoiler territory, so I’m keeping mum. Sorry, but I can hear the footsteps of the Fox lawyers…”

The New Avengers Captain America, Iron Man, Wolverine, Spiderman, the Hulk, Giant Girl, and Storm comprise of “the New Avengers” written by Jeff Parker. Yet, some are seeking to replace the same with a “more reliable” source of power in computerized warriors. (The Avengers, the X-Men and others will also be appearing in the 7-part Civil War arc written by Mark Millar.)

Chris Claremont will be the writer for the upcoming “Genext” series which will give an alternate view of the X-Verse if the comics developed in real time. Many things to be revealed may be who the X-Men’s children turned out to be, where the X-Men are, if they are still alive, and what was the culmination of the war between Magneto and Xavier 30 years down the line? The series will consist of 5 issues. And one thing Storm fans are anticipating is [pictured above] Storm’s daughter “Becky Munroe.” While this is all speculation, one may assume that Storm did not get married since the child carries her maiden name. More news to follow soon.

If you want to see the new, full X3 trailer, be sure to keep an eye or ear on FOX tonight (March 6, 2006) between 8pm and 10pm during the 2-hour special of 24.
